About Us

The Topeka-Shawnee County Sports Council was formed in the summer of 2003 and is an extension of the Visit Topeka Inc. All of the members of the council and its board of directors are volunteers from throughout the community who represent a wide range of interests and diverse professions.

Our Mission

To advise and assist the Visit Topeka Inc. in the marketing of Topeka and Shawnee County as a destination for athletic competition; To enhance and stimulate positive economic growth through youth and adult sporting events by promoting and developing Topeka and Shawnee County as a sports venue.

The Topeka-Shawnee County Sports Council has established a fund with the Topeka Community Foundation. This action places the Council under the umbrella of the Community Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) organization, and makes all contributions to the organization tax deductible.
